It’s a sad day as I’ve just learned that after five and a half years of used books and intriguing art shows, Abbott Kinney’s Equator Books and Coffee will be officially closing its doors on Sunday at midnight. They’ll need as much help as they can getting rid of their wonderful collection of books and records, so are offering a going out of business sale. Everything is 50% off and all records are $5. Bands will be performing Saturday night.
If you’re a book lover and have never been to Equator Books before I would highly recommend swinging by to check out their beautiful store and huge sale. I love this place, and will be visiting this weekend to say goodbye and take photos for posterity’s sake, which is a rarity as I almost never take pictures. Of anything. Another bookstore in Los Angeles going under. Sadness.
